Guest Vlog: Race Report from the Cortes Crown
The team at Cedrus is made up of long time sailors, so when the opportunity arose to sponsor a youth race and freestyle event in La Ventana to kick off the new year, we were excited to be a part of it. While we all consider foiling an expensive activity, we also believe that wing foiling is the most accessible form of wind-powered racing on the water there is. Dinghies like lasers and optimists far exceed the costs of even the fastest foil kits, and require special vehicles to transport and docks to launch. Big boat racing is a whole other level, with the price of a single sail approaching that of a nice new car, not to mention registration, insurance, crew, and bi-annual bottom painting to name just a few of the other "minor" expenses that again exceed the cost of a complete wing foil kit. There is something truly special about wing foiling when it comes to accessibility, requiring nothing more than a beach and some wind to experience unmatched speeds and sensations from any other form of a sailing. So as Cedrus grows, we sincerely hope to promote and foster this activity, and that means focusing on the next generation of young sailors. We'd like to thank Zoe and her family for reaching out and giving us the opportunity to support her event!
